The Trenton Thunder are the Capital City's very own Minor League Baseball team.
The Thunder are Class AA affiliates of the New York Yankees, and have been Eastern League Champions in 2007 and 2008. They play at the scenic Arm & HammerWaterfront Park located on the banks of the Delaware River. With specialty local food and beverage vendors, regular after-game fireworks and consistently competitive teams,few summer pastimes can surpass a family outing on a balmy evening or afternoon to seethe Thunder play. Notable Thunder alumni who have gone on to careers in the majorswith the Yankees include Melky Cabrera and Robinson Cano. Over the years Thunderfans have been able to see many Yankee superstars play in Trenton on rehab assignmentsprior to returning to the Yankees starting lineup, including Derek Jeter, Hideki Matsuiand Andy Pettitte. The Trenton Thunder's rambunctious and entertaining mascot isBoomer.
