“‘The Constructors’ is a 25-foot sculpture constructed of interlocking steel I-beams and centers of three cast bronze figures of construction workers. Typical of Segal’s work, this piece depicts an everyday event—people at work. One of the workers was modeled on the late Hopewell, NJ sculptor Herk van Tongeren, who was a close friend of Segal.” – Downtown Trenton Artwalk Note: The steel I-Beam was developed in Trenton at Peter Cooper’s Trenton Iron Works.
