“The main gallery of the original state museum included exhibits of flora and fauna of the State, as well as geological specimens. The north and south walls contain five murals showing the season and a larger mural at the center of the room representing the Delaware Water Gap. R. Sloan Bredin . . . painted all the murals. The restoration of these murals, and replication of ‘Summer’ occurred in 1995. Artists used an old black and white newspaper photo as their only source of the original “summer” painting. Bill Leach and Ari Rosskum also created a new mural for the south center wall, depicting New Jersey’s agricultural abundance in a style similar to Bredin’s.” – Downtown Trenton Artwalk
