Capital City Farmers’ Market Canceled for 2021 Season

News
April 27, 2021

TRENTON, N.J., APRIL 27, 2021 — Trenton Downtown Association (TDA) has announced that the 2021 Capital City Farmers’ Market (CCFM) will not be opening this spring. The market, which was canceled in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic, traditionally attracts thousands of visitors to Mill Hill Park every Thursday from May to October.

Over the past year, TDA has remained extremely cautious about hosting large-scale gatherings. As a small nonprofit organization, TDA is currently focusing much of its energy and resources on the urgent task of supporting the businesses in its Special Improvement District (SID) impacted by the crisis. As business continues to pick back up in downtown Trenton and COVID-19 cases are further reduced, TDA hopes to add staff to operate the farmers’ market.

“We will be reaching out to our vendors to offer support until we can safely and effectively reopen. We are fully committed to doing what we can to help the farmers and vendors who are such a valuable resource for our community,” says Amanda Donald, Marketing Director for TDA, who operates the Capital City Farmers’ Market.

TDA encourages consumers and restaurants to buy from our local farmers. “It’s more important than ever that we support our local businesses,” she says. “We will be adding an updated listing of farmers and vendors to our website at trenton-downtown.com, as well as featuring them in our marketing.”
