Levitt AMP Music Series Coming to Trenton: July 25-Sept 26

NJM Insurance is Presenting Sponsor of 10 Free, Family-friendly Outdoor Concerts

TRENTON, NJ - The Trenton Downtown Association (TDA) today announced the Levitt AMP Trenton Music Series will be held every Saturday from July 25 through September 26 at the Capital Green in downtown Trenton. The series of 10 free family-friendly concerts is made possible through a grant awarded by Levitt Pavilions, a national nonprofit dedicated to strengthening the social fabric of America through the power of free, live music. NJM Insurance Company, West Trenton, is the local presenting sponsor.

In December 2014, Trenton was one of 10 small- to mid-sized cities across America to win a $25,000 matching funds Levitt AMP [Your City] Grant Award. The TDA submitted the proposal on Trenton's behalf and is producing the series in conjunction with NJM’s support.

“NJM is very pleased to partner with the TDA in helping to bring this exciting new concert series to our capital city this summer,” said Mike Van Wagner, NJM’s Vice President of Public Affairs. “These free concerts will offer a wonderful opportunity for Trentonians and folks throughout the region to come together and enjoy great, live music under the stars.”

TDA Board President Clark Martin added that “NJM’s sponsorship, combined with the Levitt AMP grant, will allow us to bring a diverse lineup of high caliber talent spanning genres like salsa, jazz and rock ‘n’ roll.”

The Levitt AMP Trenton Music Series takes place at the Capital Green each Saturday at 7 p.m. from July 25 to September 26. Capital Green is located at 201 Barrack Street, behind the State House at the intersection of West Lafayette Street; next to the Old Barracks Museum. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs to the open lawn concert setting. All ages are welcome, and admission is free.

Kicking off the series on July 25 is international salsa artist Jimmy Bosch and his Sextet from Another World. Known for an expressive playing style marked by flaring melodies and soulful rhythms, Bosch is considered one of the leading trombonists in contemporary Latin music.
